Following the appointment of Fiona Taylor as Chief Executive in 2023 the council has launched a new vision or blueprint for the council to supercharge what we do next, Our B&D, Our Future. Moving forward, a key priority will be the delivery of this vision. This will see us remodel and right size services, so they fit our financial envelope and work alongside our partners to deliver our ambitious change programme, including our neighbourhood localities.

Barking & Dagenham remains one of the fastest-changing communities in Britain today. And as one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse communities in the UK and one of the youngest, there is a commitment to make it a place where people are proud to live, work, study and stay.
